Lamb Burgers

I Love making burgers for my dog because they are so easy to prepare and pop into the freezer for several months. They are always great to have in stock if you are running low on food or need to prepare something really quick!

Here is what you’ll need…(This makes 4 servings for a 50 pound dog)

  • 4 medium red potatoes, diced
  • 1 cup chopped zucchini
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 lbs lamb
  • 1/2 cup banana
  • 2 tbs minced beef heart

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees and coat a large baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

Step 2: In medium pot, cover potatoes with water and bring to a boil. Cook for 20 minutes or  until soft . Drain and mash well in the pot. You should have 2 1/2 cups.

Step 3: Puree zucchini in a food processor. You should have 1/2 cup.

Step 4: In a large bowl, whisk the eggs. Add the lamb, zucchini, banana, potatoes, and beef heart. Mix using hands.

Step 5: Make burgers that are 3 inches in diameter (6 oz each ). Place them in a prepared baking dish and cover with foil. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes. Let burgers cool completely before serving.
