Easy as Potpie

I was really excited to make this recipe! I love to bake so I thought baking a pie would be really fun and I was curious to see how milo would react to it. My results were fantastic! Milo gobbled it right up of course. The pie smelled so good I wanted to eat it myself! I couldn’t believe it smelled like real chicken pot pie!

Here is what you’ll need… (This makes 4 servings for a 50 pound dog)

-2 (9inch) homemade or store bought pie crusts

-2 cups frozen or canned peas

-1 cup chopped carrots

-1 1/2 pounds of ground chicken

-1 large egg

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees

Step 2: Spray a 9 inch pie dish with nonstick cooking spray. Line the dish with one piecrust

Step 3: Cook the frozen peas according to the package directions. Once cooled, puree in a food processor. You should have about 1 cup of pea puree.

Step 4: Add the carrots to the food processor and puree. You should have about 1 cup of carrot puree.

Step 5: In a large bowl, mix together the peas, carrots, chicken, and egg. Pour the mixture in to the piecrust and cover it with the remaining piecrust. Seal and crimp the edges together.

Step 6: Cover the pie with foil. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top piecrust is golden brown. Remove it from the oven and let it cool completely before serving.
