Salmon Sliders

I was really excited about this recipe because I had no idea what to expect and it was something I had never tried before. I have never made any sort of sliders for myself, let alone my own dog! So I decided to try this one out and see how it goes…. and my results were great! It was so easy and milo absolutely loved them! The key to making this recipe so easy is to have a little scale in your kitchen to measure the ounces of your food. If you have something like that then this recipe will be super easy for you!

Here is what you’ll need… (This makes 4 servings for a 50 Pound dog)

-2 lbs of raw salmon

-1 cup diced yellow squash

-2 eggs

-2 cups panko bread cumbs

-1/2 cup mashed banana

-1/2 cup (4 oz) drained and chopped anchovies

-1/2 cup uncooked quinoa

-5 tbs chopped beef heart

-5 springs fresh chopped parsley

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees and coat large baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

Step 2: Pulse salmon in food processor to roughly chop

Step 3: Chop the squash in food processor, should have 1/2 cup

Step 4: In a large bowl, whisk eggs. Add salmon,squash, bread crumbs, banana, and anchovies. using hands mix ingredients well.

Step 5: Make fishcakes approximately 3 inch in diameter (6 oz each). Place in baking dish and cover with foil. Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 6: Prepare quinoa as directed on package. Should have 1 1/4 cups.

Step 7: Combine quinoa, cooked beef heart, and chopped parsley and place onto fish cake when serving.

Please refer to a feeding chart and adjust your food measurements according to your dogs weight
