Chicken, Brown Rice, and Beets

This recipe was really easy to make! Although there are not a lot of steps to this recipe, It took me awhile because the beets take 45 minutes to boil and be careful where you are cutting them up because I discovered beet juice can stain! Here is what you need…

This makes 4 servings for a 50 pound dog:

-2 1/2 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breast

-3/4 cup of uncooked brown rice

-1 small beet (peeled and pureed in food processor)

-1/4 cup of green beans (pureed in food processor)

-1/4 cup of apples (pureed in food processor)

Step 1: Place chicken breast in a large pot with enough water to cover them completely. Bring water to a boil then reduce heat and cook for 15-20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through. Set aside to cool then cut up and chop in food processor.

Step 2: Prepare the rice as directed on the package and set it aside to cool. You should have about 2 cups of cooked rice.

Step 3: Place the beet in a saucepan with enough water to cover. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 45 minutes or until the beet is tender. Set aside and cool. Peel the beet, dice, and puree in food processor. You should have about 1/4 cup.

Step 4: Puree green beans and apples, mix all ingredients together and let your pup enjoy!
